Whilst playing Sims2 my Sony Vaio PCG-K215B keeps crashing after 10/15 mins and it's only been doing it recently. I mean it always has crashed before after awhile but not so soon.
Apparently I'm meant to update my driver but on the ati website i cannot find the 345M Radeon ANYWHERE!
Please help.
Does the bottom of the unit feel hotter than it used to playing Sims 2?
Slightly - yes.
I have a feeling it might be to do with overheating rather than driver problems, but it's a shot in the dark, but as you have said you haven't changed anything.
Compressed air should fix it for you
I've got almost the same problem (with another games). First I thought that it's a problem of video drivers, so I have disabled 3D support (untill the game allowed me to do this) and all went well for a wile (4-6 month), than the problem became evident as system reboot only 15 min during any CPU comsuming process. Finaly it was imposible even to use recovery disk. The sad final of this story: I sent my VAIO to repare and two weeks ago and still have no news about ("Dear customer, your vaio has been diognised and the necessary actions will be done in the sortest period")

I have a PCG-GRZ515G laptop and it also crashes after about fifteen minutes of using Sim City. I think its almost certainly due to it overheating but I am not sure what improvments/ alterations I can make to prevent it happening - can anyone help?mcdermottl@myself.com
