Sony Repairs

Hmmm.

Overall NOT impressed. My VAIO has been three weeks so far, and all the VAIO-Link website have to say is this:

"Dear Visitor. Your VAIO has been shipped to the Repair Centre"

Lol useless, same message after three weeks.

*Gulp* I am wondering if they lost it...

Sony Corporation can expect a phone call tomorrow morning, and they better have a bloody good explanation of what is taking so long.

I will use the Charmingly nice, then pushy, testy, terse, annoyed, legal action tactic on the phone each time.

I just wonder if anyone else has had a bad experience. It makes me wonder if I have seen my VAIO for the last time ever.

Hi, James.

Yeah the e- and phone support is pretty poor.
I think not that they find any problems.:smileysad:

My last conversation with "Dietmar" showed me that a little problem is not a problem.:smileyfrustrated:

I think you've been here long enough to know the answer to that

It started oh-so-well too, maybe they thought they had to make an effort to cock it up so it ended up at the average level of service.

Yeah I know TT. I feel gloomy because I have a nasty feeling that I have seen my VAIO for the last time ever.

I will ring Sony and find out whats going on...

Don't worry man - lets say they loose it, you weren't going to get it back with the data on it anyway, they format it. So if they loose it, sue them, they'll settle out and probably give you whatever VAIO you want, you're on the winning side here.

If they don't then they'll have to sit it out in court, and I am sure they'll see that it's lost so you need compensating.

Yeah. I forgot to mention actually that when I sent mine in, it was missing for a while and I rang up to see how it was doing and they were waiting for parts and more importantly waiting for permission to change the HD because I had said I might want to try some data recovery. Only they hadn't rung me to actually get permission, so it was just sitting there still when I rang.

LOL thats a bit slow of them.
Communication seems to be the biggest issue for these companies

Same for me: My vaio was shipped to the repair-centre 12 days ago. They told me, it would take 5-10 working days, so on thursday the time is finally up - and they get another quite angry call. But until then...I will sit and wait.

Sorry to hear the bad experience you guys have.

My A217S was out for repaired last week and I was very impressed with the repair service and speed. I report the problem with Vaio-link and next day 9.00am DHL came and picked it up. It was out total for 5 working days and the notebook was back to my house by DHL again.

The tracking on the vaio-link also work flawlessly. Status was updated all the time from shipped to repair center, being diagnosed and finally repaired with the part change listed. A tracking number was given once item is on its way back.

To top it all up I even got a phone call from Vaio-link yesterday and ask about my repair and am I happy to close the case.

I am impressed with VAIO-LINK so far.
