System Recovery/Restore

Can I perform a system restore/recovery using my recovery partition? If so can anyone tell me how?

Hi Andy,

Tap F10 repeatedly at boot - this will take you to the HDDR recovery consol. Make sure that you either backup or move your personal data to the D drive before doing this and select the option to format the C drive only.

I remembered this from a previous post.

Unfortunately I had already backed all my data onto zip, or what I could and thus recovered all drives. Oh well it's done now, hopefully it will be fine from now on. Think I will make periodic backups of my personal data onto DVD for safety.

I'm pretty sure it was an update from Sony that caused this problem, although I have no idea which one but it was deffinately fine before I installed updates last week.
