sz1 java / screen / graphics problem

Hi,

I've had my sz1xp/c for a few weeks now, but when I install java runtime (either 1.4.08 or 1.5) my screen goes black.

I have to reboot into safe mode and un-install.

I think there is a conflict with the nvidia driver maybe - can anyone help please!

When it happens, the external monitor works fine, but not the laptop's screen.

Cheers,
Pete.

Same problem on a VGN-FE11M...

Let's keep posting until someone puts some driver updates!

Hi fabio,

You could post a thousand requests for driver updates, but unfortunately Sony do not read or respond on this forum.. So multi posting will sadly not solve your problem...:smileysad:

Club Vaio posts are answered by members just like yourself....

Hi Pete,

The answer here is to open a case with Vaio-Link e-support HERE.

This is obviously a recent problem and is likely to have been caused by an official Sony update. Several members seem to be having this problem and I fear there is no simple solution. Logging a new case with Vaio-Link will force Sony to investigate and (hopefully) solve the problem.

Ok, thanks!

I supposed Sony will check forums, but I guess I supposed wrong. 😞

I tried to use e-support, but I cannot log-in with my forum userid+password. So I tried to register and the system says I am alrady registered and that they will send me an e-mail with my credential within 15 minutes. I'm waiting since yesterday afternoon! 🙂

If I ask for a new password, it's more or less the same, so I cannot ask e-support for help.

Btw, I feel the problem it's due to official Sony updates, since many users says the did not have that problem with the old nvidia drivers.

I had Java installed before updating the drivers (via Sony Update), I can't remember if it worked fine, but I'm sure the screen never gone black before updating.
