Following a power surge, my local shop says the motherboard on my T1XP needs replacing. Rather then spend £500+, I've decided to go for a new laptop.
The guy in the shop says he has never seen a hard drive connector like the one on the T1XP. Anyone know what cable or hardware I need to recover my data from the hard drive?
Many thanks.
Hi,
You can buy a USB Enclosure for your 1.8 inch Hitachi hard disc.
I can only find one in the US quickly at MEMORYLABS - you may have to Google.
I think you can get a 1.8 inch to 2.5 inch (normal notebook drive) Hitachi ATA converter but the enclosure is going to let you continue to use the drive with your new notebook.
That is brilliant - lifesaver.
Thank you very much for your help
Hope it works OK.
Make sure you get a Hitachi compliant one!!!
