TR1MP Keyboard Issue

Hi,

I am posting this on behalf of a colleague who at the moment cannot use her TR1MP. I don't have physical access to the machine so troubleshooting is a problem.

Apparently when she boots up the keyboard does not work (i.e no characters are echo'ed on the screen) - she can press CTRL-ALT-DEL to attempt the login to Windows, but afterwards each key press is met with the Windows 'bell' sound.

Does anyone know what this could be? Is there a keyboard setting that can be somehow enabled/disabled using a shortcut? I have been informed that no external K/B has been used.

Regards
Martin

Your friend needs to open it up (or get someone else to do it depending on experience of doing this) and make sure the keyboard ribbon cable is correctly connected to the motherboard and keyboard

Almost for sure she has spilled her drink on the keyboard and one or more keys are stuck. If the stuck keys include CTRL and/or ALT you may get the behaviour she is experiencing.

The Vaio needs to go to the repair center to be checked out and will most likely need ot have its keyboard replaced.
