Hi all,
I finally find out the right way to upgrade my vaio from useless XP Home to Professional, not so easy but it works!!!
Here is what you have to do:
1) Buy your Windows XP Professional Licence
2) Download SP2 from Microsoft and put it in a folder ( i.e. C:\WXPSP2 )
3) Copy all the files and folders from your WXP Professional CD to a folder on your HD (i.e. in C:\XPPROSETUP\)
4) From command prompt execute this command:
C:\WXPSP2\WindowsXP-KBnumber.exe -s:C:\XPPROSETUP
5) download isobuster from www.isobuster.com (the trial version is ok for what we have to do)
6) extract from the original XP Pro CDRom a startup image
7) Burn all the content of C:\XPPROSETUP\ in a bootable cdrom using the image you extract
😎 Install your Vaio with the recovery DVD (if you still havent' done this) and install all the bundle applications you want
9) Insert the WXP Professional SP2 CDRom you created before and in the autoplay windows select to install Windows XP Professional, then, when asked, select to perform an upgrade installation
10) Enjoy
10 bis) -Optional- Buy Ghost or Drive Image and create an image of your HD, next time you have to reinstall you will not waste your afternoon

Hi!
I'm sorry, but there many better ways to get Windows XP Professional on your machine - clean, without having to first install Home.
Have a look at www.vaiovillage.com
Take care.

Still it's a good guide and if you can get it to work flawlessly then it's good.
Or don't buy a Sony lol.
