Hi,
What is the meaning of the following text from Recovery Guide: "The utilities and libraries for your system are not preinstalled"? Are they not installed at all (in factory) or (as the text is in the Recovery Guide) are they just not recovered? Do I have to install them from the Support Folder?
Later in the same manual is text: "The hotfixes for your system are not preinstalled. Make sure to install them". When I have the Windows update enabled, will the fixes be installed that way? Or do I have to install them manually as described in the Guide?
Regards,
HM
Hi HM and welcome to Club Vaio.
This sounds like the usual confusing garbage that comes with most equipment and I am not surprised that you are confused!
The Utilities and Libraries are all pre-installed when you receive your computer. Unfortunately, for some reason, some Utilities and applications do not re-install after a recovery and it is then necessary to install these manually. If you ever run into this problem then this forum is the place to come for advice.
The Hot fixes referred to are probably Sony related and you can check for these on Drivers and Updates at Vaio-Link . With Widows Update enabled you will automatically receive any Microsoft fixes.
I know it's very confusing!
