Hey All,

After recommending Vaio's to friends and family, I have finally got my first Vaio and I love it. The only issue I have with it is that the box/COA sticker said it was supplied with MCE 2005 however when I had a propper look, it was actually shipped with MCE 2002. Is there any way that I can upgrade to the 2005 version of the OS?

Hi John and welcome to ClubVaio.

There is a little bug in MCE - the correct version is not always shown in the System Properties - it always shows MCE 2002 in the General Tab even if it has been updated.

To determine the exact version of Windows XP Media Center Edition that you are running, follow these steps:

1. Start Media Center.
2. On the Settings menu, click General.
3. Scroll down, and then click 'About Media Center'.

The correct version number of the application that you are running is displayed.

Thanks for the offer littlebucko but Blencogo was spot on.....it is MCE2005 but just reports MVE 2002 on the system panel. Thanks again.
