Vaio PCG-FX401 will not detect RAM in slot 2

Hi All

I have just bought a 256MB RAM module to fit my Vaio FX401, complementing the 128MB installed by the factory. The Vaio will only detect the module in slot 1 (regardless of which module is fitted there) and does not detect the second module.
Is there something I haven't done? BIOS?

Help please!!!!

Thanks William. I'm back in the UK in a few weeks and will get him to look at the RAM slot.

Please post here regarding his response / cost . Its too late for my GRX but my girlfriend has a dead GRX sitting at home.
