VAIO VGN-A195EP XP-PRO SP2

I have just got a Vaio VGN-A195EP
Happy with the machine so far but should I load Windows XP SP2 as the automatic update keeps asking me to?
I see from this forum that this can be a bit dodgy

Excellent to hear you're happy with your VAIO  you are right there are a few people who have had some issues with SP2. Personally, I've updated a couple of machines and have had no problems

SP2 can be dodgy, just make a system restore point before installing it and you should be fine.

Hi,
I've recently updated my Vaio PCG FX503 Notebook with XP Pro to SP2. Everything seemed fine until I tried to use my CDRW-DVD (Matshita UJDA 720). It now is not recognised as a RW it will only play back, not record. A further point is the power management system now has SP2 drivers and will not charge the battery, which is new, above 76%. Having trawled through Technet and community postings with no joy, anyone with any ideas of how to find a workaround/solution rather than an uninstall of SP2 would be welcomed.

A lot of people have fixed it by just installing it again.
