Vaio VGN S1Hp

I cannot keep my Vaio on a secured network. it will keep cutting in and out of the network. it only stays on for a few miniutes then it has to establish the connection again. more recently i have tried to connect it to a Wireless print server, but it wont, all other computers (non Vaio) connect no problem!!

has anyone seen this before? i cannot find any setting that will be able to change this and belkin support have no idea what to suggest!!

any views much appreciated!!!!!

Have you checked if your vaio and your Wireless Print Server use the same network connection type (for example 802.11b). If they are not compatible, that might be the cause of your problem.

If the netwerk connection is the same, double check the parameters, if they are correct. When they are correct, perhaps a driver / firmware update might do the trick.

These are the most common solutions that I have to emploi when working for people. Mostly they will do just fine. If not, try connecting on another wireless network, if u can connect there, it's your wireless printer, if you can't connect there, it's your vaio.

thanks carthorian,

all the settings as far as i am aware are correct and other computers connect on the network fine.

my vaio is consistant on any secured network, i enter the network key and it works fine for about 5 mins and then it cuts out and has to try and re-establish a connection.

driver/firmware update sounds good!! where would i fine them?

Thanks again.

Most likely they can be found on the website of the manufacturer. If you can't find them there, try a simple Google search with the product name. Feel free to reply if it has helped, so this topic can serve as a simple guide to others.

*edit*
before you do any firmware updates, make sure you have the right version for your product and read the readme file! Updating firmware usually removes any waranty guarantees.
