Hi,
I have done a fresh installation of Windows XP Pro with SP1a English on my vaio VGN-A117S laptop, but I have problems with the bluetooth device.
I have the orginal driver directory on cd from the pre-install XP-home English edition and I have downloaded the latest drivers for my laptop at the vaio update site.
I have installed all the drivers and in my device manager everything is listed as installed.
When I use the bluetooth/wireless button on the front of the laptop, windows says found new hardware UGX and I simply can't find the drivers for this device. I know it is the bluetooth.
I have not installed SP2 yet.
Does anyone have the same problem and if so what is the solutions?
Thanks for any response
Install SP2 - it has native Bluetooth support.
If you want - visit Vaio-Link and click on the SP2 information. Download any suggested updates for your VAIO, then follow the Microsoft link to order SP2 on a free CD - if you are on dialup it could take forever (SP2 is 75MB or more from Windowsupdate.com) - besides which if you ever want to reinstall SP2 you can from CD!
That CD is in my toolbox
KEE - how long did it take MS to deliver it to you? I'm still waiting
. Faith assures me it is a synch, and she had no problems...:smileycool:
3 weeks
Oh well - guess I can wait...Still they do say it can take up to 28-days.
I waited around 28 days for the security CD a few months back, depends from where it's dispatched. The SP CD came from Germany this time.
GERMANY?
I thought MS having a Subsidary office in the UK would try somewhere a little closer to home first...
I can wait - after all it is free - MS must be desperate for people to obtain it.
Yeah there's one in the south and one in Dublin Ireland.
