i have very recently bought a VGN-AR31S laptop and all was working perfectly. however about 2 days later the latptop crashed and when it rebooted a message in the bottom left corner of the screen told me that the RAID Volume 0 was failing. now whenever i turn the laptop on the message always appears. i've been ensured by the support team on the phone that there isn't a hard drive problem, and i can turn it off so the message doesn't appear but surely with a brand new laptop that is only about 4 days old this shouldn't be the case. any ideas/suggestions? i'm not exactly computer savvy so don't know the ins and outs of hardrives and RAID problems!
You could do a system restore, then you'll see if it's hardware related.
did one as soon as it happened but the message still keeps coming up. thanks for you help though.
Have you done the Hard Disk Diagnostics in VAIO diagnostics?
yes tried this last night, but still didn't work.
As it's so new I would return it to the shop and ask them to swap it.
