to upgrade the internal memory of my notebook, by another card then sony sells(much cheaper) does sony then also accepts the 1year garantee? And is it possible to put one 512 bank in it and the other stays at 256? Or is it better to go for two 512 of the same brand? (hopefully kingston, kee-lo said they fits the vaio))

If you take the stick out BEFORE sending it to VAIO Link you should be fine.

256 + 512 is no problem.

Be careful though! If you make a mistake with the memory upgrade then Sony will no longer honour the warranty (as per the memory upgrade notice I found last night on VAIO Link).
