VGP-VCC1 and turn-off problem

Hello boys and girls,

one week ago I got my beautiful VGN-FE21S laptop! Unfortunately I must deinstall the Win XP Media Center OS and install Win XP professional. It is required for my study at the university. After installation of Win XP Pro I installed the different applications and drivers. One nice component of the fe21s is the visual cam "vgp-vcc1". i installed the drivers and after this I cant turn off or restart the pc. After "..is shutting down" the pc crashes.

If the cam is deactivated (device manager) everything is alright. Can anyone help me please? It is a very strange and silly problem because I need the cam

Please help me and ignore my grammar mistakes

I found that my new laptop had the same problem after installing some software; there was a BOIS update for my notebook which seems to have sorted the problem. You might want to look on Vaio Update?

However I will note that there were other issues (running slow and from time-to-time hanging).

Hi guys

Look on the restore disk under hotfixes. There is one called KB909667

If you install this your PC will shutdown!

Now if anyone knows why when I start the camera the Sony camera utility doesnt start I would be very grateful. (I have installed all the Sony applications). I have also done a clean install of XP Pro and have got everything working except for a few exceptions. This is one, the other is the wireless switch - I no longer have 5ghz wireless option.

Thanks

TB

No problems.

Wonder if you could answer my question since you have also performed a clean install of XP.

When you start the camera do you get the camera utility to start? Also if you look at your WiFI options do you have the 5ghz setting?

Thanks
