Wireless network connects only at 11Mbps

Hi,

I have 2 laptops one VAIO K215Z with Wirelss 54Mbps and another VAIO B1XP with wireless 54Mbps and it connects peer to peer only at 11Mbps,.. i changed the connection to 802.11g (54) but they still connect to 11mbs.. does anyone knows what to do..?
K215Z wireless is LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11g miniPCI Adapter
B1XP wireless is INTEL PRO 2200 IEEE 802.11b/g

i never used an acces point to test them.. though in peer to peer they connect only at 11mb...

Both Laptops supports B and G standard. I think the connection runs still with 802.11b. Maybe you must reconfigure the connection. There should be an option where you change between b/g , b, g standard. Set them to g, then is the support for b standard deactivatet. No idea. Windows can be really strange.

I did that from the Configure at the wireless card and when i change to g for the B1XP laptop it doesnt want to connect .. very strange..
the other laptop the K215z its allready set as g..

Mmmh, I would download the newest driver from Intel, not from VAIO-Link, LOL. click me

Deinstall the driver on your B1. Delete them in the folder C:\drivers. Restart and install the driver from the Intelsite. It seems that the g-standard on your B1 not works.:smileyconfused:

Thanks alot .. i will try that... but i still have a question..

how do i install the Sony Notebook Control.. as it has no setup.exe file..the package contains 4 files.. sonync.inf sonync.dll sonync.cat sonync

Also theres a SONYPI i dont know whats that and a NORTHBRIDGEINF and SOUTHBRIDGEINF how do i install them? on sony vaio link theres no info about them.. i want to update me drivers..

That's easy. Rightclick on the ".inf" file and then click "install".

I allready did that but nothing happend..and i thought i was not doing right.. it should appear the SONY NC..

Is the file Ziped?

decompress the folder with SonyNC.
open the folder > rightclick on SonyNC.inf and then install. The same with the other files.

no its not working i tried also for south and nortbirdge and nothing changed..
