Wireless network connects only at 11Mbps

Hi,

I have 2 laptops one VAIO K215Z with Wirelss 54Mbps and another VAIO B1XP with wireless 54Mbps and it connects peer to peer only at 11Mbps,.. i changed the connection to 802.11g (54) but they still connect to 11mbs.. does anyone knows what to do..?
K215Z wireless is LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11g miniPCI Adapter
B1XP wireless is INTEL PRO 2200 IEEE 802.11b/g

i never used an acces point to test them.. though in peer to peer they connect only at 11mb...

Thank you,
All the very best for all.

OK I mean I got a wired DSL though the telephone line and it is 4 times faster than wireless which would only connect at 11Mbps

Most of the suppliers don't advertise whether their cards will connect peer to peer at 11 Mbps or 54 Mbps.

Ntegear do tell their customers - but only if you search support

Really odd what you are saying.. its becouse me B1XP notebook connects at 54 and the K215 connects at 11 so if it was like u are sayn' then the B1XP should connect same at 11.. where can i find some documentation to read that at ad-hoc wireless works and connects only at 11??

Thanks alot.. this could explain something..but have to read some info about this if you are right... please post a link..
Thanks again
