No German characters on T9 keyboard
Xperia XA Phonepad (T9) without German characters. Why does Sony offer only English?

You could download a third party app, as for the reason you could contact Sony directly with this question as this is a user based forum >>> Local support but I'll try to escalate this.

Hi @Sack, welcome to the forum!
Are you referring to the keyboard you're using when typing or the dialer keys you are using when dialing a phone number?
If you're referring to the keyboard you're when typing, are you using the preinstalled Swiftkey keyboard or have you downloaded a new keyboard from Google Play?
Let me know!

Hi Cristofer
First I used the preinstalled Swiftkey App. It does not offer the T9 keyboard but only full keyboard format. So I switched to the Sony built in Chinese T9 format keyboard which also offers English. Unfortunately it does not offer German as my former Xperia device did.
Regards Sack

@Sack Apologies for the late reply. As you say, the Chinese keyboard does not support German and Swiftkey does not offer the T9 layout for the keyboard. My recommendation would to download a T9 keyboard from Google Play. If you search for "t9", "phone pad keyboard" or a similar phrase there should be some options to choose from.
I will of course also forward this internally as user feedback regarding the standard keyboards of the device.
