Sony Xperia GPS not working

So I've tested my GPs out on multiple apps and it just doesn't seem to be working. I need to know if this is a hardware or firmware problem. Any ideas? I'll provide any info needed

Gps working perfectly on all firmwares. Are you sure that you turn on gps in settings(not the A-gps with energy save)

does google maps detect your right location?

It does at first, but then after a few seconds, it says "Searching for GPS".

Believe it or not, my case was blocking the signal, try taking your case off if your using one and see if your signal returns.  I was using the love mei case.

My GPS was incorrect (but working) at first, i.e. the arrowhead in Google Maps faced in the opposite direction to the way the phone was facing. I callibrated the gps which fixed it. Check this out.

gps not working properly, on and off working and unstable when use it (most of the time unable to detect location) for goggle map and waze also.

Oh, that happened to me too! I had to remove the the LOVE MEI metal case and the GPS started to work fine. Thanks for your post!
