USB OTG Issue

I have an HP USB drive connected to my phone via OTG cable. I tried downloading many file managers on playstore but have issues on transferring files from my phone to the USB drive. There's no error message. Nothing will just happen when you copy the files or tramfer the files to the USB drive. Does anyone have the same issue?

HI @zeechuidian,

Welcome to the community.

What if you try the built in file browser? You can find this by going to Settings > Storage & Memory > 3 Dots > Advanced > Storage > Internal Storage > Explore.

@zeechuidian Have you granted storage permissions to any of the file explorers?

It appears that the Xperia xa is not compatible with all OTG cables, in fact, a few cables. This will explain why so many users have problems.

I've found a cable that works but thanks to all that responded. Oh wait! Nobody responded, not much expertise then, I wonder if Samsung have that problem.

@Simonsteph

you could use the ummm  what do you call it? search bar, and you would find the answer.

Good response if you hadn't been two weeks too late, see above. The original OTG cable works since the upgrade to Nougat which goes to show there were compatability issues
