It's not that difficult to just purchase and apply a scratch resistant screen.

The latest Xperias still have the anti-shater film ASF but its between the digitizer and the lcd, now, with that said, the ASF, its not and has never been scratch resistant

The lcd display can be protected normally but it's just for safety reasons one should apply a scratch resistant cover
