Hi everyone
had a look in search but couldn't really see what I wanted.
Do apologize if its been covered,
but I want to delete words from the dictionary that were already in the phone from new. As I use swipe to text and most of the time it puts in words that are ridiculous and words that no one would generally use.
For e.g. I swipe AND...The phone always puts in ABS. Stupid.
Anyways so yer can I delete words via the phone or can I plug it in and edit the phone dictionary file through the PC?
Thanks
As I understand these suggested words can't be deleted.
But as you continue to choose other words these will override the first suggestion.
So the phone will in a way "learn" which words you more often than others.
User saved words on Xperia keyboard can be edited or deleted at Settings--Language and input--Personal dictionary. But I am not sure about the Swype keyboard.
Also at settings-language and input-Xperia keyboard-text input settings-my words. But it will show only the user entered words that weren't in the dictionary before. As Johan said above, there isn't a way to edit the preloaded dictionary. But you may give this a try to see if the irksome suggestions that you see were actually added to the dictionary by you, and if so, you can easily delete them.
thanks
yer i havent added any of my own words, just want the pre loaded words from sony deleated as the pre loaded words they have put in are rubbish.
You can change the way the keyboard gives you suggestions or makes autocorrections at Settings--Language and input--Xperia keyboard--Text input settings--Word suggestion. There are a few options. You may try them.
