I'm having trouble logging into the Facebook App on my Elm, via Wifi. I was wondering if anybody else was having similar trouble and if they found a solution?? Thank You in advance.
If it is the homescreen widget, then I can't help you since my Elm only came with the walkmate and calendar widgets.
But if it is not the home screen widget version, but the normal application, try this:
Navigate to the app in the Applications menu > press left soft key > select "internet settings" > select "custom" > select "allow local conn." > select "yes" > press left soft key to save settings > done
IMO the Elm Facebook App is very buggy. I can log-in OK over wi-fi, but my Facebook messages do not display.
I also absolutely HATE the way that it enables the Facebook widget on the home screen automatically - I would like manual-only control of whether the Facebook widget is displayed or not.
Actually, I would like to be able to remove the Facebook app from the messaging menu entirely - it's a "walled garden" environment and the Facebook experience is much better in the Netfront browser anyway (the browser version actually works and supports auto-rotate).
You turn off widgets without a problem! Go to the 'home' screen of your Elm/Hazel, press 'up' on the d-pad, press the left softkey for 'manage', and choose to hide the facebook widget.
Yes, I know that you can turn them off like that - the problem is that the Facebook widget is turned on automatically again every time you access the Facebook app - very annoying, so now I just don't use the Facebook app!
