How to do a full restore operation

Hi

I describe my problem

I backup this way:

1) I have ticked the box in save option exactly as said here:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Ion/Alternatives-on-How-to-backup-Xperias/td-p/161240

2) I do regularly a backup with the sony companion

3) I don't use the backup and restore application, because I don't need more than my save on my two differents computers

To restore, I have done the following operations:

1) Do a backup with sony companion

2) I have used the repair option of the Update Service/Sony companion (and so delete all my data)

3) I have used the sony companion.

=> My data are here but my desktop settings and my installed application haven't been restored.

I tried to log first with my google accounts on the google play store but when I launched the restore operation he still indicates me (sorry message is in french)

Certaines données ne seront pas restaurées sur votre téléphone/tablette. Cela est peut-être dû au fait que certaines applications ne sont plus installées sur votre téléphone alors qu'elles l'étaient lors de la sauvegarde

I propose the following translation to understand the message:

Certain data will not be restored on your phone/tab. It may be because certain app used to be on the phone and they are not anymore

I think this is because sony companion backup the data, but that general settings (desktop and installed applications) are backed up another way.

Can you indicate me either:

1) how to restore first my desktop/application settings, before using the sony companion

2) If I have done it wrong and there is no way to have back my desktop settings, can you give me the way to restore it

Regards

I think I understand thanks to the forum

I need to do 2 back-up operation:

* first using the backup and restore application for the settings and apps

* second using the sony companion for the other data

Can you confirm me ? If I lose the setting it's life but I want to do it well for the future and the phone of my girlfriend (which is an xperia Z too)

Other questions:

1) If I use the repair option in the sony companion, does it delete the back up and restore ?

2) Can you say to me how to back-up the file for the backup and restore apps (or is it done by the sony companion when we use the save option) ?

3) When I do the restore operation from the sony companion, do I need to use the restore option of the "back up and restore" apps, or do I need further steps.

Regards

Hi

It has been two weeks and no answer.

It's clearly a sony companion issue, so I would appreciate an answer.

Hopefully, I take back my phone this week, and I would like to restore the maximum data I can at this time
