No pause on camera app (when Samsung has one)

The default camera app on my Z1 has no pause function, only start/stop. Reading up on this, I find many people asking about the same thing, but everyone seems to conclude simply that Android does not support a pause feature.


However, my previous phone was a Samsung Galaxy S2, and the default camera app did have such a function. So what's the deal?

Hi, been trying to think back to my old Z1 (i currently have the Z2) .......so not sure if they are the same but if you click on the MANUAL in Camera Apps, bottom near left is the small camera icon, press it to video & when you press to record the pause button is there......tho on the 4K mode it is not.......apologies if this is different than your Z1 :smileysmileywink:

Indeed it's not present on the Z1, it is on the Z2 and Z3

So it's a hardware issue? No hope finding an app which supports this, then? Disappointing, as the Z1 is a 2014 phone, while the S2 was 2011...

There is no hardware issue,it was just not available because it might be related to a thing that I have read some time ago. It said there that it is not good for recording algorhytm to pause while recording on an Android device. Z1 is from 2013,not 2014.

Perhaps with the lollipop update, but we'll have to wait and see
