Problem with charging/acc port

Every SE phone I have had for the last 7 years has this problem. After a few months the accessories and charger do not make proper contact with the port so I can not charge the phone correctly. I need to put a rubber band of increasing pressures until that finally fails to work and I need to get a new phone.

Please is there a way to fix this? (yes I know SE switching to micro USB would fix this but we all know they will never do that)
