Problem with Music widget on lockscreen

Every time I turn off the silent mode on my Xperia Z1 and receive either a message or a call my lockscreen automatically shows the walkman widget. It is annoying, while when I am on the silent mode the lockscreen is the same as is no music control/walkman widget that shows up.

Have you tried simply removing the widget from the screen to see if this keeps happening?

This is happening with me too. The only way the widget disappears from the lockscreen is pressing pause on the lockscreen and turn on/off the display...

This is the only work around that we have. Can you please help us on how to solve this one?

Did you try pressing and holding on the widget and dragging it into the bin that appears to remove the widget?

Hi Sam,

I have tried every possible way to remove the widget, but this appears to be the same widget that pops up when you have the Walkman app playing music, so the widget cannot be removed.

I assume that when the phone rings, it's somehow treating the ringtone as music? And triggering the Walkman widget?

Hi Biosync,

Do you have 8tracks installed? I think that app causes the music controls to pop up when you receive a call or whatever. I found it running in apps everytime ringtone plays.

Hi Victor yes I have it (8tracks) on my phone. Did you get to resolve the problem when you uninstalled the app?

Yes, so far, removing 8 tracks have solved my problem. Haven't seen that widget pop up again after phone calls.
