Removed SD Card notification not going away

I had to pop in an sd card to delete some files which I then unmounted before removing but now there's a Removed SD Card notification that remains in my notification bar that won't go away.  It remains after I hit the Clear button in the pull down tab and it also refuses to be swiped away.  

Any suggestions on clearing the icon from the notifications area?

If you have not already, please try power cycling the phone (power it off and then on again)..
