Sim Card Lock

Hi, I have just bought Xperia U from Chroma Showroom, Saket Delhi India. While purchasing they gave the phone working but after some time when someone else tried using the phone, the sim card is not recognised as Sim Lock is active. Already contacted the showroom and they say they have not assigned any password to the sim lock. Also, i have already tried basic passwords like 0000 n 1234 etc. The phone have full versions of some applications like McFee antivirus and others. Tell me if there is a way i can save applications before restoring factory settings. phone does not have internet connection so i cant install android apps that saves in apps in pc. thanks

Sim lock is programmable by the end user, the code is usually 4-8 digits long, you have a few attempts to get the code right, if you keep getting it wrong you lock the sim and you then you need the unlock code - PUK( Pin Unlock Key) which is an 8 digit code provided by the Service Provider. Restoring factory settings will not unlock the sim. Your phone should work with a new sim card.

Yup initiallythe phone will be locked to carriers.. you can remove this simlock using unlock codes that can be purchased from any vendors online like Unlock-zone.com Once unlocked you can use any carrier to it...
