touch sensitivity

Hi,

I don´t really know if this is a real issue, but I never had such a problem before on a touch device.

Almost every second time I want to scroll by moving the finger in touch with the display, it receives a tap or a pinch depending on the working app.

To be sure that the tablet receives a scroll event, I have to do it very slow with much more pressure I normally use on any touch device.

Furthermore my gloves, which worked with any device I had until now, don´t work.

Is this an issue with my tablet? Or is this a normal behavior? I don´t notice any similar on my Sony Xperia Z Smartphone or Google Nexus 7.

Best Regards

I too am having this issue. Scrolling in any browser when I take my finger off to look at a section if there is a link underneath it it clicks it... Also typing seems to be an issue. I have to push hard on the screen it seems to click the letters.

I read on xda-developers forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2289978 that in Japan, a new firmware 10.1.C.0.353 is suppose to fix the touch screen issue.

However, its not officially release on Hong Kong where I bought my tablet z. Sony please release do so soon.

If this is the case then the Xperia Support Team should acknowledge this and inform us that a fix is in the process of being released, instead of saying that there is not a problem with the touch panel/firmware...

Surely if the firmware is being tested the Xperia Support Team should know about this.

Hi, just wanted to raise my hand and say I have a similar problem.

The Touch screen seems to be some times over sensitive and clicks happen when I want to scroll.

On the other hand no stencil seems to work. I have to press realy hard up to the point I fear I break the screen until it takes the stencil press.

Hope the anounced update will fix this.

Hi Sony,

no reaction?

Please don´t ignore us.

Please provide feedback

Something like: "We´re working on it!", or "We will ignore this issue!" would be really helpful, to let us decide what we can do with our devices. Maybe sell it, bin it or just use it as paperweight...

I have xperia z tablet and smartphone now and I´m not that angry about the issues with the devices or the missing updates, but I´m visibly annoyed about the missing communication.

Best regards

I've also noticed that when playing Fruit Ninja, sometimes the touch panel does not register touch input on the right side of the panel. This happens for a second and then it works again...

It would really be helpful if you (SONY) could tell us if this problem is something that can be corrected through a firmware update or if we need to send our units in for hardware repair.

I would also like to add myself as yet another person experiencing touch screen problems on the xperia tablet Z. this is clearly an issue, what is the best method for escalating this to sony? maybe we need to flood news channels so that it gets into the public eye, then we will see Sony take notice? If you try and use a Jot Pro stylus with this screen you will see that it utterly fails to register consistently.

Thank you Sony!!

The update has at least solved the problem for me .

Even the stylus is now working.

Good Job keep the improvments comming!

Wolfgang, what update did you receive?

I got one yesterday, to 10.1.C.0.370.

So far, so good, but time will tell!

Hi,

I would like also to confirm the issue on mine. I have the SGP321 version (LTE). It is pretty annoying should I send my device back or will a update fix this?

Sony some response would be nice? It has been also reported in xda forums as well. Some users report that you should remove the screen protector that was applied on it from the factory? Sure this cannot be true? I am pretty disappointed at present. Not sure what to do.

I am on version 10.1.1.A.1.253
