Download a wifi direct app and you should be able to do so

You can for example use OfficeSuit which is preinstalled on some markets. Search and find the file in OfficeSuite > press and hold the file > send using Wi-Fi direct.

Around 150 mb

Open settings > Wi-Fi > menu button > Wi-Fi Direct. 

Search and pair with the device you want to receive a file from. Then you should be able to receive the file using Wi-Fi direct.
