[x10 mini pro] contacts & sync service

starting to lose my patience with the contacts & sync service

in the Settings > Data Synchronization > Contacts (tick box) can someone tell me if this is to sync with the sony ericsson service?

reason i ask is that i put my contacts up on the SE sync service when changing from a K850i to x10 mini pro, updated and eventually after several attempts got my numbers on to my new shiny phone. now i unticked the autosync service to save on battery life etc and now i have ticked it and got several same people in my address book so thought are these two different services?

I am only going by what the user guide says but looking at it the answer is yes they are one and the same thing, but I thought the idea of sync was to send and receive data changes not duplicates... unless you have made some change to the name or number type maybe so that the program thinks they are seperate items.
