Xperia S: Freezing while placing a call.

My Xperia S will very regularly freeze when I try to place a call. Even after a restart, it would freeze. Only the app will freeze, not the entire phone. This happens when calling through the messages app and the default dialer. After several attempts and several minutes, all the calls will try to go through at once, which leads to repeatedly redialing numbers.

Apart from a settings and or factory reset, are there any options here?

You could try repairing phone software with sony update.Also,you could go for a force restart(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates).
