Xperia X10 SMS layout?

Hey, I'm new to Android/Smart Phone's, but am very tech savvy, forgive me though if I use any odd lingo... haha.

So I recently got an X10 (love it), and yesterday, or this morning, I was playing around with some settings and I came across a SMS layout similar to Handcent/iPhone. I don't remember how I got to it, but I would love to use that rather than the 'thread' layout. It's sort of boring.

It had the contact image on the outer side of the text, with my text's on the left and theirs on the right. (It was all blue and swishy like Timescape.) So if anyone knows of this please let me know! Apologies if I wasn't clear enough.

It sounds great, just wish I could reproduce it on my phone.  I am intrigued as to what you did to get this.  Do you have any other messaging apps than the standard and Handcent?  I have both of them and can't figure it out at all.

Do you have a mini or large? I am a large so wonder if you have mini maybe?

No it's normal. 'Large'. Here's a mock up of what I recall it to look like. If it sparks any ideas... I'm also pretty certain it wasn't an app.

!!! I found it, and I wasn't even trying to look for it. If you go into Phonebook > Choose your contact > Scroll right until you get to messaging and voila! My image was pretty close too :smileywink:. Though it only seems like it's to view the messages. Not reply... oh well.

Glad you found it again.  You were pretty close on your mock up.  Its a shame they don't give you this as an option in the stock messaging app.   I'd have never have thought of looking there, I did briefly go into the phonebook contact but pressing message just gave you the option to send an sms to that contact.  Don't generally swipe left to right in there.
