Tethering error after Lollipop update

Hello everyone.

Before updating to lollipop, i used the tethering option frequently without any issue. The moment the update completed, every time i turn on tethering, a window appears saying "Tethering error". If i then try to connect another device via tethering, it connects fine but cannot receive data. Any help with this?

Following any of the above steps, should get you going. If not, then you have some other problem. Do them again, make sure you follow the steps exactly as mentioned. Peace!

Still unable to connect my tablet to internet through my Z3. I can connect to hotspot but no internet.

My network `3` say it`s a problem they`ve made Sony aware of and I will have to wait for a fix.

Hi!

The WiFi tethering is not working correctly on my Xperia Z3. I have not tested USB tethering. I can connect to WiFi hotspot on my phone and my laptop gets the IP address through DHCP. The gateway, DHCP and DNS servers are all set to the same address 192.168.43.1.

The problem is that my laptop can't resolve any server name, the DNS is not respondin to requests.

The internet connection is working because I can ping IP addresses and if I manually override DNS to some DNS server (for example 8.8.8.8) I am able to resolve hostnames and everything works correctly.

I have found this issue on google code https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=82545 that describes my problem but I can't find a solution for this.

The strange thing is that if I downgrade mobile data from LTE to 3G then DNS is working on the laptop.

Any ideas what is the problem here?

I can reproduce this on Windows 8.1 and Arch Linux. I have tryed to reboot my phone multiple times but it doesn't help.

If Google have an issue with their code as you have stated then it's them that you need to make aware of this issue

I don`t actually agree with that.. I paid for a Sony product with this as an advertised function.. not Google. and it`s a Sony glitch not Google
