Can you pause live TV on a XR-42A90K

I am thinking of purchasing the above but have read that there is a problem with pausing live TV. Is that the case?

Hi @wolfiewolfie   Where did you see that it is even possible to pause live TV on a 2022 Sony TV? As far as I know that function is not available. If it important to you, I would buy a ‘proper’ PVR.

Currently I use a Humax(?) box, does that make difference?

A PVR is a personal video recorder, such as your Humax device.

The TV itself cannot pause live TV as there is no hard drive on the TV to buffer the broadcast signal.

Your Humax PVR will have an internal HDD for you to record programmes and pause live TV.

I have a XR42A90K and it is rather good, although it refuses to do the dishes and make the beds, which is something Sony could work on.

Many thanks for your most comprehensive response. In other words I can continue to carry on in the same way as I do at present. Do I need to upgrade from Humax or will it still serve me well?

You can continue to use your Humax as you do now, I have a Humax Aura and a Humax 5000T plugged into my XR42A90K.
