Any one able point in in the right direct to setup voice activation on my XR-55A84K
I cannot find anything to help me...it's meant to have a built in mic, I have the usb Cam connected but simply trying to locate guides is stumping me.
Thanks
Have you turned on the Built In Mic Switch and enabled it by following the instructions on page 4 of your reference guide..
Reference Guide 50376521M.pdf (sony.com)
Yep, done that. Neither of the lights are emitting so called Sony and looks like hardware issue but after speaking to online, they only can offer collection and refund and then I have to way 14 days after checked (DOA out of the box).
Looks like my return to Sony was short lived because their customer service and online process is pathetic!
So I got it working...maybe I could get a job at sony and help customers too lol
Don't forget to let us know how you got it working, it could help other people with the same question 😀
...here's how I fixed mine.
I won't go into all the ins and outs but before I went through the following, no matter how I set the mic switch at the bottom of the TV, the indicator lights would not illuminate.
1. Performed a factory reset
2. When the Google TV home screen was presented I pressed/depressed the google assist button on the remote and on screen it asked me to select 'not now', 'I'm in' or something along those lines and this is when I believe one of the mic lights (left side LED) suddenly emitted yellow/orange
3. Slide the mic switch to the right and hey presto...TV started to listen and obey
NB - some of the options that appeared after the factory reset did not the first time I ran through the setup. I don't know if this is because I didn't run through the HDMI earc/arc sound setup or because I had downloaded updates.
Hey sparkymarcopolo, thank you for updating the thread!
Also, there was actually a new software version released few days ago:
Thanks for the post !
I have had this problem for months. I've been hesitant to do a factory reset cuz I loathe having to reload apps etc but after seeing this I may give it a try.
I will post here again if I have the same luck.
I did check for updates after the factory reset and there weren't any but I'm sure at the time of first setup it checks. When I later manually checked, they were dated well before I first setup my device
Hey sparkymarcopolo, the new update can be found in the following link for manual update:
