C4 rear Camera failure after update? Or send in for repair?

Hey there,

I bought my Sony Xperia C4 about two weeks ago. Since yesterday I wondered why my rear camera doesn't work anymore. Sometimes the app shows me just a black screen, sometimes I can see something for a second and then the camera crashes and sometimes I was able to switch from rear to front camera. Front camera works, even if it also turned into a bader quality I think.

I wondered all the time "WHYYYYYY does that happen NOW?". Actually I read through a lot of posts that theme the C4-camera-problem. I booted in safe mode, I reseted my phone a couple of times and tried to solve the problem with the Sony PC Companion App. I tried everything and I am afraid I did spent my money in the wrong phone or the wrong manufacturer (before I had Samsung and never had such a problem).

I remembered that I had a SOFTWARE UPDATE on my phone two days ago. Counting one and one together I'm suffering one of the many problems that a lot of other C4 users describe.

I hope it's just because of the update and will be fixed by another update in the next days. Unfortunately I can't send my phone to Sony Repair in Germany if it's really needed to be fixed. That's at least what the guy from support center told me today...

Well. Only 16 days till my birthday. So pleeeeeease give me a solution. Because of all the resets I will switch on my old phone for the next days.... but I loved the Sony C4.... until yesterday ;(

I'm sorry to hear that, when you say PC Companion app, are you referring on using PCC on a computer? if you did that already there's nothing left to be done other than sending the phone to be inspected/repaired by your Local support

Yes, I used the PCC on computer.

Today I called the Local support in Germany. Because the phone isn't usually sold in Germany the guy on phone told me they could not accept the sending of the phone for repair. Maybe I can try to contact the support of the internet store where I bought it.

Don't know.... really sad.

That's correct, if the phone was bought from a different country the warranty its only valid in that country, but you should contact the seller regarding this.

Really sad to hear that. Did you do a software repair using pcc?
