Could it be that you are using a Dual-SIM device? If so you will need to open the Dual-SIM settings, select SIM1 or SIM2 and tap Network mode in order to change your preferred network mode. Note that you will have to do this for both SIM-cards.
If your device still isn't swithing over to the WCDMA or GSM network when LTE is not available you can try resetting your APN-settings (internet settings). Go to Settings > More > Mobile networks > Access Point Names > Tap the three dots > Reset to default. Now go back to Settings > More and tap Internet settings in order to download new ones. When the download is complete, reboot your phone.
Are you still experiencing that your phone isn't switching over to WCDMA or GSM?
have you tried lte/wcdma config?
are you using an old sim? try to ask your network if you could have your sim card changed.
