This sounds like an internal error/fault within the camera itself and because of this, I would advise you to contact Sony Customer Services to see if a repair is needed and also if it is covered by the standard warranty (this will depend upon how long you have had the camera).

Thanks for the reply I have had the camera for a few years now so no warranty.
Will contact Customer Servicers but I think it might be as cheep to get a new camera.

Just to let you know, contacted customer services & they say i have to send it in for repair but did not say what the problem was or cost to repair, so might just get new one.
