Hello,
We recently bought a sony RX-100 first version and we noticed on some picture, pink pixels were appearing.
Mostly on clear unfocused area, looking like an interrupted image process (just like if you took a picture while the camera didn't finish to render what it capture on screen).
Is this an hardware issue or i can maybe fix that with different settings ?
This appears directly on the screen, before even taking a picture, then is also captured.
here is an example (see behind, zoom on the sky) : https://imgur.com/a/YUVDq
The camera was brought from amazon 2 months ago, it was already noticeable on first days but u can manage taking picture without these showing if you avoid huge contrast, so we thought it was like an help or something.
Is anyone could give us advice ? Thanks a lot !
Hi @subbyy,
you can even see it at the top of your dogs head.
Would you mind checking, if it is also visible on RAW files?

Hello,
Thanks very much for your answer,
Unfortunatelly these stripes are also visibles on the monitoring and stay after the capture (raw, jpeg, standard or fine show no huge difference concerning these verticals lines).
It's strange cause except these, the sensor looks top notch, very reactives and no blur near these lines. It truly looks like a live help mode for showing where ur picture won't be perfect ahah.
Hi @subbyy,
it doesn't look like some overlay (ZEBRA/Peaking), also no overlay should show up in the final image.
I will escalate this to support, since if it shows up in the RAW files as well, that your camera is broken.

Hi @subbyy,
it might be a hardware issue, yet support wants you to try the follwing steps:
- Nicinitialize the setting of the camera to factory settings from the instructions in this link: http://bit.ly/2Boh9xQ
If the issue remains we recommend that the customer contact the Sony centre for help with this here: http://bit.ly/2xDiL4G.
