Having done the wireless upgrade to 'Dolby enable' the Blu-Ray player, the player menu freezes, doesn't recognise the remote, ' 'no signal' message on the Sony Tv, it is completely frozen; all was working great prior to the upgrade. The tv and player are only a month old.
Upgrade glitch ? Anyone else had issues?
Hi PaulinBont,
There are some comprehensive directions for this update here and you can also review the troubleshooting tips to help with these issues.
Hope this helps,
Ed
Thank you for responding, however In the ' Troubleshooting ' (wireless method) section 3 is meaninglessness for the non-technical layman ie someone like me....'proxy server ??????
Haven't got a clue what that means, also seeing as the update has frozen my player, what is the recommended action, I've tried the old tried and tested method of unplugging it and trying again later.
Hi Paulin, have you tried getting in touch with Sony's technical support team about this yet? You can contact them here.
Yes I have but no response as of yet, I'm wondering if anyone else attempting the Dolby Vision upgrade has encountered the same problem
I am having the same issues with the player freezing on certain discs ( 4k and standard blu ray duscs.) The issue resolved itself if I switch the player on and off again but I shouldn't have to do that.
Hi Basil,
Welcome to our community
I wonder if you tried to reset the player at all? You can find the steps in the manual on page 24.
Hope this helps

Yes I'm getting the same issues. I purchased the 4K version of "Gladiator". It froze on me half way through the film. I've had the disc replaced by Amazon but the new one froze on me. Yes, I have reset the player to factory defaults.
The guys at Richer Sounds who are far cleverer than me couldn't fix the freezing issue; they sent the player back to Sony to have a look at in the lab, meanwhile exchanging mine for a new one with the advice not to attempt the upgrade until Sony fix the glitch in the software.
