Hi all,
last week my Xperia didnt recognize my earplugs. I thougth, well, maybe I should update my software so I uploaded 2.1
Still no success. I bought a new headset, just in case... But still no music via earset..
And there is nothing in the manual about this problem, or a screen in the phone you can touch and fix it.
Any ideas how to fix this and get the music back on?
Solved! Go to Solution.
OK. Firstly, can you confirm that the supplied earpiece and the one you bought are in working condition (should be rite?).
If they are, the next thing to do is to test your phone. With the earpiece (supplied) plugged in, do the following
From the lockscreen, press HOME BACK BACK HOME BACK HOME HOME BACK (HOME-middle hard button & BACK-last hard button). A service menu will appear, select Service tests, then Earphone. If there is no sound, that means some problem with your phone, get it back to SE Service for warranty.
Just before that, try the one you bought too (just to be very sure).
Have fun and good luck :smileywink:.
Take it to warranty (take the chance to go for a different phone with updated OS - i.e. not SE)
Anyone with a real solution?
Taking the phone back to the store and get another one is not an answer to myt question..
Any handymen here who can solve my issue? PLEASE???
What earplugs are you referring to? bluetooth or normal earpiece?
the standard earpieces, as delivered with the phone.
with wire and plug-in

Thanks G!
I tried it just now, unfortunately no sound, just a long whining after a minute... So I know what I'll have to do...
Wrap it and take it back to the shop. But I will print your answer for - who knows- other issues..
Thanks so much!
Welcome, glad that you found the fault. At least you don't have to keep scratching your head (no good for the hair :smileywink:).
Hope that you will get to enjoy a working set soon!
