Try using Sony Ericsson sync.  Thats how I got my info from my old C902 to my X10.  You can find it from the Community tab at the top of the page and it sends a programme to your old phone, syncs all the info up to their 'cloud' and then you can sync it back to your new phone.

Alternatively you can use the old style PC Suite to export your contacts to Outlook then import them into Google contacts and sync your phone with Google.  You should have set up an account from the start up of your new phone.

Just as a little added extra, if you are on Android 2.1 you can make a backup of your contacts to your SD card too so that you have them saved in a couple of places just in case!

Open your Phonebook/Contacts book and press the Menu hard key (bottom left) and then Import/Export and then Export to Memory Card.  I'm a great believer in having a backup position, call me cautious but hey, that's just me Winking_Face

Hi Suze

I have had a look at the import/export section in the phone book, and it only gives an option for saving to swim card not memory card? I have already lost all my contacts 3 times from doing updates and I am very wary of doing anymore! I have backed up my contacts on th SE website just incase but when I try to do it in the backup section in my phone it always says "could not back up"   Can you please advise me of the best way forward?

Many Thanks

Well I am assuming that you are still on Android 1.6 as you don't have the enhanced option to save.

The backup and restore function on the phone doesn't back up previously synced numbers so that's why it isn't backing them up.  Your numbers should be safe in SE sync but you could also use Google sync as well.  I am trying to remember the 1.6 version and I think you can only sync with one at a time so untick SE sync and select Google sync and they should also be saved online with google.  So now you have two backup positions should the poop hit the fan.

Can I ask what location you are in and what carrier you are on out of interest.  Have you tried to upgrade to 2.1?

I am already on 2.1 android and on my 3rd handset as so many problems. I am in UK.

I have another handset being held for me if I have any more problems. I am with Orange and they have helped me as much as they can but it seems to be the SE phone

The biggest problem I had was when I updated to the 2.1 android. This corrupted everything in my phone and Orange had to send me another handset.

I hope all of these problems will not always happen as I am starting to lose faith in my X10 mini.

Suze can you please tell me what changes there are in the newset software update? I have an update waiting but I dont want to do it as I dont want to lose all of my things again.

Many Thanks

Why have you not replied to my last messages yet?

Is this because you dont want other people to know about these other problems??????

I would appreciate a response as I am waiting to hear from you before I do any software updates
