Update problem X10 mini pro !!

Hi,

i am from Sri Lanka.

my pc showed me that New updates are available(Android 2.1) for my X10 mini pro which is Android 1.6  when i connect my device to PC via PC Companion (Latest Version). and i have done all of instructions on screen. when it says Turn off phone for 5 sec. then plug the USB cable while holding Back key on device. i did it correctly but after 30 or 40 sec.(not sure) my phone turned on normally. then my PC stuck. i tried SEUS, Same thing happened. what should i do ?

Download the latest version of PC Companion. Uninstall the old one before installing the new one. Disable Antivirus and firewall.

Do it like this

Make sure that you battery is charged to at least 50%

1. Switch off the phone and wait for 30 seconds

2. Connect the data cable to PC

3. Now press back button on your phone [keep pressing continually]

4. While pressing connect the USB cable to the phone. Keep on pressing until PC Companion asks you to release the back key.

I also have the same problem.  I've tried what Er Kannan said but it made no difference.  The problem is that the PC freezes trying to install the SEMC Flash Device drivers.

Disabling anti-virus and firewall did not help and I was already running latest version of all software.  The problem was resolved by running PC Companion in SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING.  Phone now updated to Android 2.1.

Hi all,

finally i am happy to say that i have solved my problem ! i just used a better PC ( its my friend's Laptop :core i5,Windows7,4GB ram)

here how i did it :

from it says disconnect  your phone from PC etc.(Prepare)

1.i disconnected the USB cable from both

2.Turn off my device

3.plugged USB to computer

4.insert USB to device while holding back key

5. i hold it for 30 sec. then i released it

then it moves to Update tab ! after that it downloaded (this step will take long time)

thats it no big deal !

its better to change your PC to High performance one it will solved your problem as mine !!!

thanks guys !

i wish you all the best!

Hi

I have had the same sort of problems with my mini pro. With both update and pc companion all went well until reconnecting phone 'off' with backbutton pressed - bubble cane up  SEMC Flash Drive then everything froze. I tried complete uninstalls, then on another second pc with no success. I got advice from SE support on making sure the uninstall was complete, then reinstalled. Still it froze at the same point. Told SE support - and they did not read all my email and just said try Update rather than PC Companion - I already had and told them in my email - it would help if they read what they were told, maybe the support would  improve.

Then I found this thread - started in safe mode with network - connected phone 'off' with back button pressed' - bubble up with 'SEMC Flash Devic'e - quickly followed by 'installed - ready for use'. Then ran update and all went ok. Now on Android 2.1. Hurray!

My conclusion is that the driver would not load in normal mode for some reason - a conflict of some sort - in safe mode it loaded instantly. I guess that I could then have come out of safe mode and completed the update in normal mode, but who knows.

I have emailed SE support telling them what I did and my conclusions so that they can be more helpful to other users.

Thanks
