hi.
i have a kdl-32cdx523 internet ready tv and a sony vaio laptop that is wirelessly connected to my router. i have heard from a few places on the internet there is a way to connect the vaio to the tv using an ethernet cable so the internet features on the tv can work but i have no idea how to even though iv tried. ooh i dont have a hdmi port on my vaio the model number is vgn-n38e
when i try it says ip address conflict in my vaio. is there a tutorial on how to do this or can someone please tell me.i would be very grateful.
i know there is the uwabr100 adapter but myrouter is in another room and majority of people say connection is bad.
please help thanks in advance.
Hi mskh4n and welcome.
Have you tried looking at the connection diagrams in your iManual here: -

Basically, I think you need to connect the TV to your router to access the internet features on your TV. To do this you can either use the Sony WiFi dongle or, if your wireless connection is weak, you can connect by ethernet cable using a set of homeplugs like these: -
I use these even though my TV has wireless built in as it gives a far more stable connection.
Your TV's internet features then work without your Vaio by communicating direct with your router. However, you can set up your Vaio as a media server to stream video, Photos and Music from the Vaio to the TV.

Have a look at Catmambo's excellent Smart TV FAQ sticky thread here: -
oh so the cheapest way to get the full features of the smart tv are through buying the powerlne adapter kit?
can i not just connect an ethernet cable from my vaio to my cx523 and enable it somehow? feel bit tight at the moent but if i have to then i guess il buy the adapter. 😕
