Brightness control.

Hello,

I have a Vaio VGN-SZ4MN with XP installed and i cannot get brightness control working.

In the Vaion control center utility appears and automatic control and I cannot modify the brightness in mi screen.

Can anybody give any light to solve it ?

Also Fn keys work fine but there is no modification on brightness when i press them.

I have the same problem, i am using SZ3XWP. operating system is VISTA. i get the screen when i use the FN function but i cant change anything. the bar stays at 1 and cant modify it at all.

You could try going Start> Control Panel> Power Options and then click on the "VAIO power management" tab and then in the "Settings for xxx power scheme:" box there is a drop down list of options for LCD brigtness. This should change it for you, otherwise sorry!

I tried your indication but nothing changes.

I thing the problem is that screen configuration is not property and brightness modification is not available.

I have also one option in Vaio Control center that mentions that there is an automatic function controlled by a detector to control automatically brightness but I cannot desactivate.

i would have suggested the same as robertolopez, maybe it is just on e of the problems with vista at the moment waiting to be sorted out in any future service packs?

sorry about an error in my last post, i meant that i agree with arejones, about going into power management and adjusting the config there.
