Broken lugs on Vaio Case

Has anyone else had the experience I have had with their Vaio laptop case? Only 2 weeks after purchase, one of the lugs that latches the case shut broke! Today the second one broke, so I can no longer latch it shut. Hopefully Sony are going to solve this for me fast - but I am concerned as the lugs are just plastic, and as its hard to prise the lid open whilst sliding the front catch, I am concerned they will just break again. It seems a rather cheapskate way of latching an expensive machine!

I assume you guys don't think much of the FS series build quality? :slight_frown:

When the latches fall off within a week I call that pretty poor build don't you?

Yes I would and I wasn't implying otherwise, I was merely asking and trying to expressing my disappointment as I¿ve just paid a lot of money for a model in this range.

Hearing or reading negative comments about something that you own or have just purchased sort of takes the wind out of your sails and installs doubt as to whether you've bought a potential duffer, especially considering that I bought this to replace a duffer.

Sorry the tone of that post didn't come out correctly, I wasn't having a go at you.

I can understand it's very demorialising.

I've got to admit that that FS series looks pretty stylish. The only problem seems to be with the under engineered screen latches. Wiith any luck you won't have any problem with yours . . . . . .

No need to apologise Kee-Lo, no offence taken and I sincerely hope I didn't offend you. Thanks for your help.

this happened to me too... the worst thing is that the first to be gone is the right one, the one that's switching the screen light off once closed.

btw I don't get why sony, knowing this problem, hasn't already provided a "metal" or stronger material replacement for the hooks of those who're encountering this problem and step it back to the repair center.

does anyone know how much will it take to repair ?
