Can anyone help with what is probably a simple query from a luddite. I have just bought a Vaio, and am trying to get my AOL connection to be used as the default internet connection when I click on 'internet' or when I click on an icon that automatically connects to the net. At the moment, I get a message saying that I am not connected and i have to go back and click on the AOL icon, which is a bit of a circuitous route. Many thanks!

do you use an external modem. for example a usb ADSL modem?

if so then you need to re-install this useing the cd provided

If you go into internet explorer
Click on tools > Internet Options
Click on the connections tab
If there's anything there select AOL
Select dial a connection when there's no network connection
Then click default
Then click apply
Then OK
Then test
